Seven habits of highly effective people
Stephen R. Covey's book, The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, has been a top-seller for the simple reason that it highlights the principals of fairness, integrity, honesty, and human dignity. There are times when I feel our society has strayed from these very principals. So how do we bring society back? The answer is at the tip of your thumb. Point your thumb at yourself and there’s your answer. I can only affect the actions of one person – ME.
The following are the seven habits.
Habit 1: Be Proactive - taking responsibility for your life
Habit 2: Begin with the End in Mind - imagination--the ability to envision in your mind what you cannot at present see with your eyes
Habit 3: Put First Things First - organizing and managing time and events according to the personal priorities you established
Habit 4: Think Win-Win - a character-based code for human interaction and collaboration (Integrity, Maturity, Abundance Mentality)
Habit 5: Seek First to Understand, Then to Be Understood - Communication is the most important skill in life
Habit 6: Synergize - "two heads are better than one" Synergize is the habit of creative cooperation
Habit 7: Sharpen the Saw - preserving and enhancing the greatest asset you have--you. It means having a balanced program for self-renewal in the four areas of your life: physical, social/emotional, mental, and spiritual
