Back to Running, Pain Free

Running Rehab

From the injury that stopped you to the mileage you miss.

Getting You Back on the Road

Every runner knows the sinking feeling when a nagging ache turns into a stop sign. Shin splints, runner's knee, a cranky Achilles or a stubborn arch can pull the plug on months of training. We find why the tissue is failing, calm the pain with hands-on work, then rebuild your capacity so the same problem does not return. Care is private and unhurried at our North Miami clinic, in Aventura and in Wynwood.

Helps with:

Runner's knee IT band syndrome Shin splints Plantar fasciitis Achilles pain Return to run

Running injuries are rarely about the sore spot alone. A knee that aches, a shin that burns or a heel that stabs at the first morning step is usually the place where a chain-wide problem finally shows up. We assess the whole system, from how your foot strikes the ground to how your hips and core hold the line under fatigue.

The exam looks at your gait, your cadence, your strength and your recent training load together. Filming your stride tells us where force is leaking and which segment is overworking to cover for a weaker one. From there the plan targets the real driver, whether that is a hip that gives out late in a run or a calf that never got strong enough for your mileage.

Treatment blends hands-on care with progressive loading. When soft tissue restriction is holding you back, we draw on the John F. Barnes myofascial method, and postpartum runners often pair this work with pelvic floor rehabilitation so the core carries its share again.

The finish line is a structured return-to-run progression, not a vague clearance to try. Your plan is mapped through our self-pay programs, so the goal, the timeline and the cost are clear from day one, whether you train near our Wynwood clinic or elsewhere in the city.

Our Return-to-Run Approach

01

Running Gait Analysis

We film and assess your stride, cadence and foot strike, then trace how your hips, core and feet share the load.

02

Root-Cause Diagnosis

We pinpoint the weak link and the training error driving the pain, so treatment targets the cause rather than the symptom.

03

Hands-On Care and Strength

Manual therapy settles the irritated tissue while progressive strength work rebuilds the capacity your mileage actually demands.

04

Structured Return to Run

A graded walk-run progression and form retraining bring you back to full training without re-triggering the original injury.

Running Injuries We Treat

  • IT band syndrome and lateral knee pain
  • Runner's knee and patellofemoral pain
  • Plantar fasciitis and stubborn heel pain

  • Stress fractures returning to load safely
  • Calf and hamstring strains that keep recurring
  • Hip and glute weakness that fades late in a run

MIAMI MILEAGE CARE

Built for How Miami Runs

Miami runners rack up mileage on some punishing surfaces, and our caseload mirrors it. Loops around Biscayne Bay and the flat waterfront paths pile on repetitive impact with almost no elevation to vary the load. The climb up the Rickenbacker Causeway is the closest thing to hills in town, so ambitious runners hammer it and light up their calves and Achilles. Bridge repeats over the Venetian Causeway do the same to knees and shins. Add half-marathon and full-marathon blocks that ramp volume fast in the heat, and overuse injuries pile up. We build return-to-run plans around real routes and race dates, and shift clients to our Aventura location when the drive is shorter. Our therapists carry over 100 years of combined experience.
